Other Than Hunting
Transform Your Life with Our Companion Dog Program
Unleash Your Dog's Hunting Potential
Our Companion Dog Program is dedicated to training dogs specifically as companion dogs and emotional support dogs for service veterans. Our journey began with our very own Zebediah, who found his forever home with a Veteran in Kansas City. Zeb has proven to be a remarkable companion, providing invaluable support and companionship that enhances the quality of life for his owner.
Training for Lasting Bonds
We specialize in training dogs that possess essential qualities for effective companionship. Our dogs undergo rigorous training to develop:
- Basic Obedience Skills: Our dogs learn fundamental commands to ensure they are well-behaved and responsive.
- Mild Temperament: We focus on selecting and training dogs with calm dispositions, making them ideal companions for various social settings.
- Advanced Composure: Our dogs are equipped to handle diverse environments, from stores to restaurants and sporting events, ensuring they remain calm and collected in any situation.
Connecting Veterans with Trained Companions
We collaborate with reputable organizations dedicated to pairing Veterans with specially trained dogs. Our commitment is to facilitate connections that foster companionship, emotional support, and an enhanced sense of well-being.
Meet Our Companion Dogs
Below, you'll find profiles of the dogs we've trained and those currently undergoing training to join our Companion Dog Program. Each dog is a testament to our dedication to improving the lives of Veterans through the power of canine companionship.
"Good Morning from Zeb and I. I'm sorry I haven't kept in touch. I have been busy and kind of going through stuff. Seems to come in waves, but I don't know what I would have done had I not had Zeb there with me. He is doing great and I hope you know how grateful I am for him. Definitely going to work on keeping in touch Sir."

A Grateful Message from a North Carolina Veteran: My Experience with Avery
"Big thanks to Red Rooster Retrievers, FISH, Jeff Brinkley, Amy McDonald Ward and all of the great folks who made this union possible. Avery and I have bonded on a level that is not only surprising but exciting at the same time as I feel drawn to her, and she is in my hip pocket everywhere I go. She sleeps in my bed, sits in the seat next to me in the car, she even tried to get in the shower with me...Lol. She's a great addition to our family and we are looking forward to many happiness and craziness with my Avery girl."
