Gundog Basic Training
This training program includes basic obedience, trained retrieving or force fetch, and "whoa" training to bring out the natural point of your dog. Your dog must be 6 months of age or older for this training. We will work on upland field hunting including finding birds, holding point, and retrieving downed birds to hand. Basic water retrieves will also be included, weather permitting. This training usually takes about 3 months, but varies depending on the dog. A discount will be given for those dogs that were purchased from Red Rooster Retrievers.
Cost: $650 per month, bird cost not included

Hunt Tests
We attend hunt test every spring and fall and can run your dog at these test if desired. We do charge a small handler's fee of $50 for each test the dog runs. You will be responsible for the cost of the hunt test entrance fee which is around $95 for Certified Pointing Retriever and more for Advanced and Master level hunt tests.
